Into the Dragon’s Den

Published by Mrs T at 8:07 am under Uncategorized

On Friday, two groups of children from Year 6 went to Seabrook House, home of Seabrook’s crisps, to take part in a ‘Dragons’ Den’ event run by ‘Step Up to Enterprise’. The groups had to pitch ideas about products they would like to make and sell; the prize for 30 winning teams from the whole of the Bradford area will be the chance to sell their products from a Market stall in Darley Street in June! In addition, they will get £100 towards the cost of setting up their business plus business advice from the Dragons.

“Frametastic” (Ahmed, Adam, Ibrahim and Saleh) and “The Maths Business” (Abdullah, Auzair, Mateen, Raheel, Zain and Zakria) were amazing! They had come up with some very strong ideas for products, a company name and a company logo, done market research and costings for their product and made samples in the space of just three weeks - and all while revising for their SATS. On the day, they stood up in front of five Bradford Company MDs and pitched their products like true professionals, answering some very challenging questions from the Dragons. Don’t let anyone tell you the Dragons were pussycats – they were SCARY!

We don’t know yet if they are among the winners but…

WATCH OUT SIR ALAN SUGAR, THESE BOYS ARE AFTER YOUR JOB!
