At Lidget Green we take part in lots of projects where the whole school works together. This year, we are working as a school towards the re-accreditation of our Centre of Excellence for Financial Education status, towards the Artsmark Award and towards the Green Tree School Platinum award.
Working towards awards like these help us to make sure that the education and opportunities we offer your children are of the highest quality, judged against National Standards.
You will find the latest news about these awards on this page, in addition to whole school activities like our focused reading days, arts week.
Thank you everyone for making it another very successful PTA Christmas Fair. This year we had a very special Santa’s Grotto as well as games and lots of delicious treats!
These children have been awarded with our first ever 100% Excellent Behaviour Medals. They’ve had excellent behaviour whilst they were in in Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6!!! What an achievement! Well done!!!

The first victory was over Princeville, then Horton Park, beating the unbeatable Iqra Academy along with a total wipeout against Thornton Primary. The team did tremendous as they beat every team by a a difference of 60,70 runs.
Congratulations to our PTA Easter Egg Raffle Winners!
Some of our children were fortunate enough to go see the ICC Cricket World Cup this week! I wonder how many Dad’s will be jealous!
Today we had a very special treat. Two ‘Super Whippy’ ice cream vans visited school and the children ( and staff) all received a whippy ice cream cone with a choice of sauces and a chocolate flake!!
The vans played the ice cream van music to make the experience even more special! Everyone loved it!
Here are just a few photos from our World Book Day yesterday! Can you name any of the familiar book characters?
Judging has begun for our Recycling Holiday Homework by Ingrid from Asda and Miss Marshall. The winners will be announced very soon!
There will be points for every child who takes part and special prizes for overall winners. The prizes are being provided and presented by Ingrid, the community link worker from Asda, as Miss Marshall is working closely with her on lots of community projects. Work will be on display in Asda for everyone to see!
Thank you again for your support and good luck to all the children with their Holiday Homework Challenge. We are looking forward to receiving lots of high quality work and would encourage all children to have a go!
These paper cats were created by Art Club. Even though they were all made in the same way, I think you’ll agree they are all very different!
Lidget Green just missed out on 1st place by 1 point! We took 2nd place to Copthorne and that was after only one lesson in uni hockey.
Today we had a special Christmas assembly where we all sang Christmas songs. We had a Nativity song by Year 2, the choir sang Christmas songs, Yr6 had pre filmed a poem and the Teachers did a performance of The Twelve Days of Christmas. Everyone had a great time. Merry Christmas everyone!
A big Thank You to Asda for letting our school choir sing in their Lidget Green store and helping us raise £50 for Young Voices.
The Lidget Green School Council decided to take part in Save the Children’s Christmas jumper day on Friday 14th December. The event was a huge success with all classes from Nursery up to year 6 taking part and even the staff joined in the festive fun and got in the Christmas spirit! As a school we managed to raise a huge £140 which has been donated to Save the Children. We would like to thank all of the parents, pupils and staff who got involved and made a donation to this wonderful cause. We hope that our contribution to #christmasjumperday makes a difference to children who are less fortunate than ourselves.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everyone
The Lidget Green School Council
