At Lidget Green Primary School, we aim to provide a range of learning opportunities for our pupils to develop social and emotional literacy, as well as academic excellence. We want our pupils to move from childhood to adolescence with support and guidance to encourage both an awareness of others and the growth of responsible independence
We want to prepare our pupils for the future by encouraging the development of characteristics for life such as a love of learning, resilience, integrity, team work, critical thinking and independence. We want to prepare them for the world of work by developing enterprise skills and financial awareness.
Through this, we believe children can develop the confidence, talents and skills to become effective open-minded individuals, motivated learners and active, curious citizens. We hope our pupils to develop as great communicators, who are confident to share their views and opinions.
Mental health is as important to a child’s safety and wellbeing as their physical health. It can impact on all aspects of their life, including their educational attainment, relationships and physical wellbeing.
This week, children across the school have been learning about the importance of emotional well-being through lessons, short activities and assemblies. We finished the week with a ‘dress to impress’ day where children had an opportunity to came to school wearing an outfit to express how they were feeling.
