Years Three & Four

YEAR 3:

Welcome to Year 3!

We are delighted to welcome both new and returning families to what promises to be an exciting and rewarding year.

Our Year 3 teaching team is made up of Miss Mukhtar (3MM), Mrs McKeown (3RM) and Miss Charles, who will be teaching across Year 3.

Moving into Key Stage 2 is an important step for children as they continue to develop their independence, confidence and sense of responsibility. Throughout the year, we will enjoy a wide range of engaging learning opportunities, creative activities and exciting topics that inspire curiosity and a love of learning.

Our first topic is ‘Proud to be from Bradford’, where we will be exploring the question ‘Why was Bradford a rich city?’ The children will learn about Bradford’s fascinating history and investigate the important role the wool trade and textile industry played in shaping the city. They will develop their understanding of how this industry helped Bradford grow and become a wealthy city, exploring significant historical places such as Little Germany, Salts Mill, Lister Park, Roberts Park and Bradford Industrial Museum.

We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to supporting the children as they learn, grow and achieve throughout their Year 3 journey.

Year 4:

Welcome to Year 4!
We are thrilled to welcome all of our children and families to an exciting new year in Year 4. We hope everyone has enjoyed a wonderful break and is ready for a year filled with new challenges, fantastic learning opportunities and unforgettable experiences. We are looking forward to getting to know each child, celebrating their achievements and supporting them as they become more confident, independent learners.

Our Year 4 teaching team is made up of Miss Khan (4K) and Mrs Grohort (4G). Together, we are excited to create a caring, creative and inspiring learning environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to do their very best. Throughout the year, we will work together to develop children’s knowledge, curiosity and confidence, while helping them build important skills for the future.

Our first topic is ‘Proud to be from Bradford’, where we will celebrate the incredible history, culture and diversity of our local area. During this topic, children will explore Bradford’s rich heritage and discover how the city has changed over time. They will learn about the different communities who have made Bradford their home, particularly through migration during the 20th century, and explore the many ways people have contributed to the identity and character of our city.

Through exciting lessons, historical investigations, stories and discussions, children will develop a deeper understanding of Bradford’s past and present. We hope they will feel proud of their local area, appreciate the experiences of others and recognise what makes Bradford such a special and welcoming place.

We are looking forward to a fantastic year together, filled with curiosity, creativity, kindness and achievement. We cannot wait to see the children grow, explore new ideas and make wonderful memories throughout their Year 4 journey.
