WELCOME TO LIDGET PRIMARY SCHOOL

Lidget Green is a large primary school and caters for pupils who are 3-11 years of age. The school community is very diverse, where pupils speak many different languages. Predominantly, our pupils are from minority ethnic groups. The majority of the pupils speak English as an additional language. The school caters for pupils who have additional or specialneeds. Everyone at school refers to our school as being a ‘family’.

We are a fully inclusive school and our vision is ‘Learning together in our inclusive family’.

Our three school values are:
Inclusion- We include and treat everyone equally and value diversity.
Nurture- We support, care and keep each other safe to help everyone to grow.
Respect- We are kind and show respect to each other to build trusting relationships.

Our school community all live by these values and inclusion, nurture and respect are at the heart of all we do. We are very lucky to have a large and well-resourced school building with good outdoor grounds and opportunities for learning, including a cooking room, training rooms, a PE studio, two school libraries, an astro turf sports pitch, an enclosed multi-use sports area, a Forest School and much more. Lidget Green has achieved the ‘Health Minds Chartermark’ through working closely with the Educational Psychology team, to further develop our whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing. We offer a wide range of support for our pupils as detailed below in our school offer for SEND pupils. We are an OPAL school (Outdoor Play and Learning) to sustainably improve the quality of play during break and lunchtimes.

We believe that our children should experience a rich curriculum and enjoy an exciting wide range of opportunities, including outdoor learning, trips, sport, music and much more. We know these experiences are essential in motivating and engaging the children in their learning but also in increasing their knowledge, expanding their vocabulary and developing their character. We want our pupils to have lifelong, happy memories of their primary school years that they will treasure. We offer a wide range of clubs including a lunchtime and after school sports club. Our breakfast club is very popular and well attended. The school joined Pennine Academies Yorkshire Multi-Academy Trust on the 1 September 2023.

The school and the trust are aligned in their values and their shared vision to ensure every single child receives the very best education. We will achieve this, together with our family of schools, through continuous school improvement, high expectations in all areas and a positive growth mind-set. Leaders and staff work collaboratively to share expertise across a family of schools and make use of a central team to support finance, HR, estate management and school improvement.

Partnership with parents is good and the vast majority of parents would recommend the school to another parent.
