Dear Parents and Carers
Last night you will have heard the Prime Minister saying that the government believes it may be possible to implement a phased re-opening of schools from 1 June, starting with pupils in reception, year one and year six.
Let’s be very clear, all of us want to get more pupils back into school as soon as it is safe to do so. We do not want to see classrooms empty for a day longer than they need to be.However, as Headteacher my first priority has to be the safety of everyone in the school community. Any plan to increase the number of pupils in schools has to be safe, practicable and manageable.
I would like to reassure you that as a school we will be working closely with the local authority to determine our next steps.
For the time being school to continues to be open only to vulnerable children and those of key workers, as published in the DfE guidance.
At this stage I am not able to answer your questions, however I will keep you updated in the coming days and weeks when we know more from the government.
Keep safe and take care.
Mrs Moran
