Our Vision for Art and Design
Art and design gives us the freedom to enter other worlds, be creative and express ourselves.
At Lidget Green we want our art and design curriculum to:
Inspire and challenge our children
Stimulate creativity and imagination
Help develop a range of skills and techniques
Be the door to other people, places and cultures
Encourage the use of imagination and original thought.
Provide opportunities to learn about the world in which we live.
Explore ideas and meaning through the work of artists and designers
Be accessible to all, so everyone has a sense of their own achievement
Encourage our children to explore and express themselves using a wide variety of media
Curriculum Definition
“Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity. A high-quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As pupils progress, they should be able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design.
