At Lidget Green Primary School we strive to provide high-quality Design and Technology lessons that will engage and inspire children to think innovatively and develop creative procedural understanding.
Children will be taught to select and use a range of equipment safely and confidently to make purposeful products. We encourage children to be critical thinkers and refine and improve their products by evaluating and problem solving.
We want to allow children to express their creativity through their designs and give them a platform to share their creativity with others.
As well as making its own distinctive contribution to the school curriculum, Design and Technology contributes to the wider aims of primary education by making links between all areas of learning.
We aspire for children to become resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens and to participate successfully in an increasingly technological world.

Here is some of the amazing work we have been doing in Design Technology.
Year 1 have made lots of different structures. They made some lovely carriages using wheels and axles, some bridges using art straws and tutor houses.
Year 2 have been practising their sewing skills by designing a landscape and sewing it using different types of stitches.
