Lidget Green children in Year 5 had a royal visitor today.
They were lucky enough to have the chance to interview King HenryVIII. They asked him lots of questions about his life and reign and nobody lost their head.
We have had so many generous donations of packets of biscuits that we will be able to sell biscuits again next Friday, 1st April - 10p per biscuit, no more than two biscuits per person
The total amount raised is nearly £150 so far – thank you very much indeed, especially to those of you who sent donations as well as 10p for a biscuit!
Sarah from Year 6 and some of her friends will be selling biscuits for 10p each at playime on Friday 25th March. You may buy one or two biscuits only (but of course you can donate as much money as you wish!). The money will go to the Save the Children’s Japanese Crisis appeal. Thank you to the staff who have donated the biscuits – and a big thank you to Sarah for organising this.
Year 3 and 4 have had an Ancient Egyptian Day as part of their topic in the Creative Curriculum.
They cooked like Ancient Egyptians and the whole school still smells of onions. They made salad out of onions, chickpeas, dates and grapes.
They mummified bodies.
They worked hard as scribes.
They made their own scarbab beetles
And finally put together an advert for Ancient Egypt.
Sgt Abbott came into school today to present prizes to the winners of the Firework Safety Competion run by Great Horton Neighbourhood Policing Team. Leo and Sidra won prizes and the winning posters can be seen on Great Horton NPT’s facebook site. The runners up were all presented with certificates too.
Mrs H is spending half term in Islamabad teaching new teachers. She has asked me to put this post up to say she has arrived safely and is working hard. She is going to send me some photos so you can all see.
